Department Statistics of Malaysia had released the June CPI and the data is as below,

Malaysia - 1.7
Peninsular - Malaysia 1.7
Sabah - 3.4
Sarawak - 1.5
May Consumer Price Index (CPI)
Malaysia - 3.3
Peninsular Malaysia - 3.1
Sabah - 5.2
Sarawak - 3.5
April Consumer Price Index (CPI)
Malaysia - 3.5
Peninsular Malaysia - 3.4
Sabah - 5.4
Sarawak - 3.7
March Consumer Price Index (CPI)
Malaysia - 3.7
Peninsular Malaysia - 3.6
Sabah - 5.5
Sarawak - 4.0
In June, Sarawak has the lowest CPI whereas Sabah has the highest CPI that is 3.5, it is double the figure of the Malaysia CPI.
Does this mean the Sabahan needs to pay double for the same item that is being sold in Peninsular Malaysia.
