Department Statistics of Malaysia had released the September Consumer Price Index (CPI)
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for the period January to September 2009 increased by 0.9 per cent to 111.9 compared with that of 110.9 in the same period last year.
When compared to the same month in 2008, the CPI for September 2009 registered a decrease of 2.0 per cent from 114.7 to 112.4. This decline was due to changes in price of petrol and diesel starting in June 2008. Compared with the previous month, the CPI increased by 0.3 per cent.

The CPI index is low now compared to last year when we are haunted by the high inflation era. Now based on the data, this should means the inflation is low now. For CPI historical data since year 2006 do refer to Malaysia Inflation Rate Since Year 2006.
